Keepers kept

Lot clearing

Trees, brush and stumps come out, the lot is graded and left clean, and the hardwoods worth keeping stay standing.

Clear the lot without losing the trees you wanted

Most overgrown ground has a mix on it: dead and leaning trees, brush that has taken over, and a few good hardwoods worth building around. A crew that clears by the acre and asks questions later takes all of it. The shade you paid for goes with the rest.

A cleared lot with the tall hardwoods still standing, like the one in the photo, starts with a walk. Scott Keen goes over the ground tree by tree before any machine starts, and the keepers get marked so nobody has to guess.

Tree, brush and stump removal, then grade

Premier's own list for lot clearing reads: tree and brush removal, lot grading, clean lots, stump removal and excavating. In their words, "Whether it's for new construction or you're in need of lot clearing for your existing property, our professional crew is experienced and fully equipped."

The equipment is on site and it is theirs: a Morbark chipper for the limbs and brush, a stump grinder, a Kubota excavator and a Takeuchi track loader for moving ground, and dump trucks to carry it away. Brush goes through the chipper, and stumps are ground or pulled so the lot is not full of obstacles when the next crew arrives.

Properties around Locust Grove, Orange, Spotsylvania and Lake Anna often need all of it at once. Scott runs it as one job so the tree work, the stump work and the grading happen in order and nothing has to be redone.

A clean lot, ready for the builder or the lawn

The finish matters as much as the cutting. A lot is graded so water leaves it instead of settling, the soil around the trees left standing is kept free of heavy traffic so their roots are not crushed, and the debris is gone before the crew is.

That is the standard the reviews describe. Scott is on the job the entire time, which is how a lot ends up the way Matt DiCerbo found his: left in perfect condition. From there the ground is ready for a foundation, a driveway, or topsoil and seed.
