What stayed standing

Every tree gets a verdict before a saw starts.

Some come down that day. Some can wait a few years. Some are healthy and stay put, and the ground around them gets finished properly.

New sod and a cleared path beside a dark-sided cabin under a full hardwood canopy

Kept · the canopy

Hardwoods over a cabin, understory out

The big trees stayed. The brush under them came out, a path was cut through, and the slope beside the cabin went to new sod.

Fresh mulch beds and new plantings around three standing trunks in front of a white farmhouse

Kept · three trunks

Mulch and new plantings around the trunks

Three trees left in the front bed of a new white farmhouse, with fresh mulch, new shrubs and the dump trailer still in the drive.

Cream pea-gravel bed around a wooden deck, shaded by the trees left standing in the yard

Kept · the shade

Pea gravel under the shade trees

The shade trees by the deck stayed put. The worn ground under them became a cream pea-gravel bed with shrubs and a fire pit.

What does the cutting

The whole fleet on one lawn

Kubota excavator, Takeuchi track loader, the Morbark chipper, the stump grinder and the trucks. One owner, his own machines.

Tree work, stumps, lots and the ground under them

Five kinds of work, one owner. Every job starts with a free estimate on the property, and every one ends with the debris hauled off.

The owner is on every job, the whole time.

Scott Keen isn't a salesman who hands you to a crew. He walks the trees with you, runs the job and stays on it the entire time, through the clean-up. That's the part people write about.

A walk at Lake Anna

Four trees down, stumps ground, the firewood left behind.

“Scott and his team are amazing! We had him walk around with us on our property at Lake Anna to examine all of our trees. Scott was very knowledgeable on the different tree species and pointed out the ones that needed to be taken down right away, ones that could wait a few years and the ones that were completely healthy. Scott and his crew took down four trees and ground down the stumps. He was able to leave behind the pieces that we could use for Firewood. We were super impressed with the professionalism and the cleanup that they did afterwards. We highly recommend Scott and his team for any tree work that is needed.”

Taken down right away

The ones Scott pointed out to take down right away. At Lake Anna that was four trees, and the stumps were ground down too.

Could wait a few years

Worth watching, not worth paying for yet. You hear that from Scott, not a pitch to take everything.

Completely healthy

Left standing and protected while the machines work around them. These are the trees the property is built around.

Clean-up is part of the job. Limbs are chipped, debris is hauled off, and stumps can be ground down the same visit. If you want to keep rounds for firewood, say so and they are left for you.
