Tree care, stump grinding, lot clearing and excavating from Locust Grove

Scott Keen sorts a property the same way every time: what has to come down, what can stay, and what the ground needs once the trees are dealt with. The work below is sorted that way too. Every estimate is free, and you can reach Scott at (540) 718-3794 any hour of the day.

Tree care and removal

Trimming and pruning, removal, topping and fertilizing, from a limb hanging over the roof to a whole trunk standing beside the house. Scott walks the trees with you first and says which ones need to come down right away, which can wait a few years, and which are perfectly healthy. A chipper works on site, so the limbs are chipped and hauled instead of left in a pile.

How a tree comes down, start to finish

Stump grinding

A stump grinder cuts what is left of the tree down below the lawn, and the chips are put back in the hole or hauled away. Premier does both grinding and full stump removal, and the grinding can happen on the same visit as the tree removal. A property with stumps all over it gets cleared and graded in the same job, so the ground is ready for grass.

When the ground needs work

Once the trees are sorted, the lot, the grade and the beds are next. Same owner, same equipment, and the same habit of leaving the good trees standing.

Lot clearing

Tree and brush removal, stump removal, grading and excavating, so the lot ends up clean. It works for new construction and for an existing property that has grown over. Premier clears acreage while saving the trees worth keeping, and Matt DiCerbo wrote that Scott “left the land in perfect condition.”

Excavating and grading

A Kubota excavator and a Takeuchi track loader do the digging and the leveling: lot grading, yard grading, drainage, and rough access roads with culvert pipe. The equipment goes in with as little damage to the lawn as the route allows, and the finish grade is left ready for top soil, seed, sod or a building pad.

Landscaping and hardscaping

River rock, landscape cloth, top soil and mulch, bobcat grading, shrubs transplanted to where they belong, and custom hardscaping around the house. Linda Futato said “He returns text messages and keeps you notified,” which matters when a bed is going in over several days.
